Composition Competition Results!
Back in September we launched a composition competition to find music to be played at Butlins and other concert / contests throught the coming year.
We had an entry of 30 pieces, from up and down the country, with a good standard throughout.
The winner of the competition was Romani Fire Dance by 1st horn with Black Dyke Band Jonathan Bates. Jonny won £750, the piece was performed at Butlins Contest and will be published.
Second place went to Crimea Sutton, with a piece called Verve and Funk! Crimea will receive £500.
Third place went to Richard Taylor and his piece Tokyo Sunset, which we played at the gala concert on Friday night at Butlins. Richard wins £250 for his composition.
We would like to thank all the entrants for their entries and if they would like specific feedback on their piece, please send an email to bandmanager@flowersband.co.uk
